I have been so so so busy! I am really behind on my wedding planning! I haven't even had a chance to keep up on reading my wedding magazines (I have 20 total so far hehe). I promise a better update to come soon!
O I also wanted to share an idea had the other day. My fiancé and I recently moved in together and I have found that I have less and less space for my stuff, in particular my jewelry. It kept getting tangled in my jewelry box and I had no other place to put it. So I grabbed a cork board that was lying around and wallah! A place cute display for my jewelry!

Next to you is my happy place...
I seem to be quite horrible at keeping up with this blog. Between training for my new job, organizing the engagement party, traveling to Florida for work, and trying to enjoy my birthday I have barely had time for anything else. Although June was crazy, July seems to be a calm month... so far.
The wedding planning has been going ok, although there have been a few kinks in our plans. After tedious discussions and a lot of searching Jeremy and I finally decided on a photographer. Unfortunately by the time we emailed the photographer back to confirm our decision, he had already booked up for the entire month of October 2013! :sigh: And about a week later while we were walking around a venue with one of the Sales Associates the last date in October 2013 at the venue booked up before we even finished the tour! I thought we were ahead of the game booking a venue a year and a half away... but apparently we are not. Not matter, it ended up working out for us in the long run. Because of how quickly everything was being booked the fiance and I decided to book another reception venue we looked at a month prior. I am so excited, it is such a beautiful spot!

Thursday we officially sign a contract for the reception venue (SteelStacks) and we meet with another (and one of my favorite) photographers. Crossing my fingers the fiance likes her!
On top of all the emails have I been getting from TheKnot.com and David's Bridal, I have also been stock piling wedding magazines. Every time I walk in with a new magazine Jeremy lifts an eyebrow and shakes his head a me. So I might be a little addicted... who cares! My favorite so far is Real Simple Weddings. Unlike most of the other bridal magazines it's very informative with very little advertisements in it. If anyone is interested in some free wedding magazines let me know! I have more then enough to go around.
On a non wedding related note, Jeremy and I are starting to try and buy locally at the farmers markets in area. Although the heat has made it difficult to find certain items, overall we usually get half of our grocery shopping done at one of the farmers markets. Today we had a nice dinner with a whole small chicken, organically grown corn, and jalapeno corn bread. For dessert... chocolate and peanut butter kiffles. Yummmm! Not only are we eating healthier but we are also helping support the local economy. I think it's a win win.
Hopefully with my schedule being freed up a bit I can update this a least semi-regularly. Hope is the key word ;)
O and I wanted to show off this wonderful birthday card my fiance got me. Love him...

So Much To Do, So Little Time!
Today is my last official day of sleeping in, lounging around, and pinteresting the day away. As of Tuesday, I am an official worker bee again. I am super excited to get back to work but I will miss all the down time I was so accustomed to having... but you gotta work to make that cash!
I was reading Alison's blog from theknottybride.com and fell in love with all of the dresses she blogged about. My 3 favorites are:
I'm thinking Bridal Shower, Bachlorette Party, and Rehearsal Dinner! What do you think?
Since I have had two months off I have been working on some small crafts to pass the time. The craft that I am super happy about how it turned out is my very own Wedding Planner notebook. It's very easy to make and only took me an hour or so to put together. What I did was buy a binder and dividers from the dollar store and labeled each divider to help me keep all my wedding paperwork organized. My dividers include budget, guest list, wedding, reception, legal, registry, photographer, florist, entertainment, bride/bridesmaid dress, and Tux Rentals. I think it came out very nice!
Tomorrow I am off to babysit my wonderful baby Cousin, Gavin (he is the cutest) and then Tuesday I start the new gig. Wish me luck!

Happy Cinco de Mayo! Is it May already? I feel like we barely had a winter and now spring is half way through... but hey, at least it's better then snow!
This has been a great week for me so far! On Monday I met up with my friend Devin of MorgiaBridal.com to see the first sketches of my wedding dress. She did a wonderful job and I am excited to work with her further on my dress and my bridesmaids' dresses. What do you think?
Also this week, after waiting two months for the perfect job, I found it! I received a call on Wednesday that I officially got the job! I couldn't be more excited (I start next Tuesday)! I just hope this new job doesn't take away from all this wedding planning (haha).

The Beginning
Finally it has happened... I am a bride-to-be. I have always dreamed of this day, ripping out pictures of dresses and flowers and pasting them in a notebook. What I didn't calculate into this dream is that I would be 25 years old and jobless, but I guess that is why they call them "dreams".
A little back story about me and my hubby-to-be. I was brought up by two wonderful parents and two crazy sisters. My mother was a very organized and stern woman where as my father was very caring, easy going, and even sometimes naive. I spent most of my childhood in the comfort of being a middle class family, enjoying vacations every year and borrowing money from dad when I needed it. But then the recession hit and everything changed over night. Being unprepared for the lack of business, my father's company went from being slow to out-of-business. I can not tell you how devastated I was for my father. I watched him build his business from a one man team working out of our basement to a company of 10+ employees and 4 company vehicles. I could only imagine how it felt to see your life's work taken away from you in the blink of an eye. From then on it was no more vacations or borrowing of money.
Fast forward to when I met Jeremy. At the time I was still living with my parents, trying to help support them where I could. But even though I was working two full-time jobs, I made sure to find time to go to Trivia every Thursday night. Jeremy was the host, of course. I immediately had a crush on him. He was funny, smart, and super sweet. After the approval of our mutual friends (and him getting enough courage to ask me out) we started dating.
Since then we have been dating for over two and a half years and couldn't be happier. We both have had our ups and downs. Since I met Jeremy I have been through 3 jobs, 2 job trainings which have shipped me to different states for months end, and most recently I lost my job.And Jeremy, who is still in college, has had his graduation date pushed back several times because of his research. But through all of that we've remained supportive and hopeful of each other. We spoke plenty of times about getting married but because of our current situation I never thought it would happen anytime soon. When he finally proposed I couldn't of been more surprised (I will go into detail about the proposal on the next post).
So that's my story in a nutshell. I wanted to start this blog mostly for me to keep my sanity but also to connect with other brides-to-be.This is my first official blog and it is new territory for me. Any and all suggestions and feedback are welcomed. I can't wait to see what the future (and this blog) holds for me!
